The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as the Duanwu Festival, is one of China's most important traditional festivals with a history of over 2,000 years. It is widely believed to commemorate Qu Yuan, a patriotic poet and statesman of the ancient State of Chu. People honor his loyalty and contributions through traditional customs such as dragon boat racing and eating zongzi (sticky rice dumplings).
