Festival Activity | Dragon Boat Festival

The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Duanwu Festival, is a traditional Chinese holiday celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. This festival commemorates the ancient patriotic poet Qu Yuan, and is marked by unique customs such as dragon boat racing, eating sticky rice dumplings (zongzi), and hanging mugwort and calamus to ward off evil and disease.

To embrace the spirit of this cultural tradition, Nanjing Hengde Electrical Equipment Co., Ltd. organized a lively Zongzi-Wrapping Competition ahead of the holiday. Employees enthusiastically took part, showcasing both creativity and craftsmanship as they wrapped sticky rice dumplings in a variety of styles and flavors. From savory meat-filled zongzi to sweet red bean versions, the competition brought joy and a deeper appreciation of the festival's heritage to everyone involved. 

In celebration of the Dragon Boat Festival, Nanjing Hengde Electrical Equipment Co., Ltd. will be closed from Saturday, May 31 to Monday, June 2, 2025.
